Raena Lim

Fueled by her desire and passion to build something from scratch and make a direct impact in the causes she believes in, specifically sustainability and mindful consumption, Raena moved into the startup space. Here, she developed the concept of Style Theory from a problem she faced herself – having a wardrobe full of clothes, but constantly feeling like she had nothing to wear; leading to an endless cycle of wanting to purchase more and buying into an unsustainable consumer culture.

Style Theory was thereby borne of her desire for impact-making through offering a sustainable solution to the “what shall I wear today” conundrum faced by many women daily. Offering rental, resale, consignment and restoration services for designer apparel and bags, Style Theory gives consumers the freedom to eliminate the buy-and-throw-away culture and its excesses and integrate sustainable style into their daily lives.

Raena graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Organizational Consulting. She is also part of Tatler’s Generation T, a platform that recognises extraordinary individuals, entrepreneurs, professionals and creatives. She is in the steering committee at sustainability @ TaFF (Textile and Fashion Federation) leading the fashion sustainability efforts in this region.
