Kate Nightingale is a consumer and retail psychologist, Chief Behavioural Officer, interim head of
brand, brand strategist and lecturer.

She is a founder of Humanising Brands, a strategy and innovation agency for challenger brands and
visionary leaders. Our mission is to create a better world by making brands more HUMAN.
Kate works with retail and other consumer brands across brand strategy, customer experience,
design, and innovation. From category defining start-ups, through scale-ups in need of a serious
brand strategy pivots to national and global brands adapting their brand strategy and innovating.
Kate’s expertise is especially sought after by brands that aim for true differentiation not only in the
market but more importantly in consumers’ minds.

Throughout the years Kate worked with brands like Swarovski, Dowsing & Reynolds, Klarna, Harvey
Nichols, House of Fraser, Samsung, Zopa Bank, Disney, Crowd DNA as well as various start-ups and
large established luxury marketplaces.

Kate founded Humanising Design in October 2022, an insight platform at the intersection of design
and science. Sharing inspiring and mindbending content spanning all design disciplines from
architecture, through branding and UX to product and material design. We envisage the world
where design and science collaborate seamlessly together to create a better world and human
experience.

Kate is also a founder of Women of Retail, a community created to celebrate female voices in retail.
Kate is also a lecturer in consumer psychology, consumer behaviour and customer experience at
Regent’s University and London College of Fashion. She speaks at numerous industry conferences
(Campaign Brand Forum, eTail UK, IRX, Global Female Leaders) and is often approached by press
including The Business of Fashion, Vogue, Sky News, BBC News and Channel 4 News.
